Chair N ° 14 / Cane seat - Reissue 1860
A classic of industrial design, the famous bistrot chair '' n ° 14 '' is the first chair produced in series and kit! It is the most famous and best selling chair in the history of furniture. It was designed in 1860 by Michael Thonet, the founder of the brand to meet the order of the manager of a Viennese café who dreams of establishing practical, elegant and space-saving chairs. The No. 14 chair is made of six bentwood parts that are disassembled for easy transport. Its design, robustness, maneuverability and value will make its success: the orders are linked very quickly and Michael Thonet decides to produce it in series. In 1930, she had already sold more than 50 million copies! More than a century and a half later, the '' bistrot chair n ° 14 '' is always produced identically (it is delivered assembled). The No. 14 chair is available with different seating options: full plywood seat, perforated plywood seat or straw seat. Comes in a multitude of colors: consult us.
