Los Angeles in the 70’s. Best time to be a band. The Freedom, the youth, the rebellion. The life on tour, the bell-bottoms, the crop tops, and the embroidered platform shoes. They were not groupies but ‘Band-Aids’ - impossible to keep it PG-13 - “no sex, just blow-jobs - we’re here for the music” they said. Rock and Roll.
When ‘Almost Famous’ came out in 2000 it became an instant classic. Set in 1973, the director follows the journey of the fifteen year old William, a candid music fan, who ends up (as an assignment for the iconic Rolling Stone Magazine) on tour with Stillwater, a Californian up-and-coming band. Led by Penny Lane (Kate Hudson), character inspired by Bebe Buell - ‘the mother of all 70’s rock muses’ as MTV puts it - William is about to start a journey of enlightenment and a once in a lifetime adventure.
